Bentley Continental Flying Spur [w/Gallery]

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Bentley's new Continental Flying Spur has been revealed ahead of tomorrow's official debut through a series of leaked pictures.

The images, which surfaced earlier today, show the latest incarnation of the Flying Spur is sharper with a more upright grille and taut elegance than the outgoing model. The DRG's character has been subtly altered by placing the larger pair of lamps to the outside rather than sitting closest to the grille, visually widening the car. The lower air intake – that now stretches the full width of the car – and the horizontal feature line above the lamps add to the effect.

Its overall surfacing appears both more taught and more dynamic than before, in much the same way as the Continental GT was updated. A good example is the new crease along its shoulder line, that runs into a pronounced rear haunch.

However it's at the rear that the most obvious changes have been made, creating a longer, more elegant tail. Its lamps are a new, horizontal unit that feature a lozenge feature line that frames the whole rear in a graphic first seen on the less-than-elegant EXP 9F SUV concept.

Inside, the new Flying Spur will feature new trim and equipment choices along with fully redesigned dials although its architecture is very similar to the GT's. A large touchscreen sits underneath two central vents and the inset analogue clock.
